Ultima Underworld demo fails to run

I am trying to get the Ultima Underworld demo from ftp://nic.funet.fi/pub/msdos/games/demos/ (uw_demo1.zip + uw_demo2.zip) to work in DosBox 0.72 (Mac PPC).
The setup using uwconfig works fine, but when I start the game with uwdemo, I briefly see the "Origin and Blue Sky Productions present a demo of..." screen followed by the following error message:
"Underworld can no longer run. Error code D004."

Has anyone succeeded in getting this demo to work in DosBox?

Works fine for me. The 2 files were unzip'ed into C-drive\UWDEMO and mounted in DOSBox with

mount C "C-drive".

Only change I made to the default DOSBox-config was setting scaler=normal3x.

way to troubleshoot: tell us where you have the game stored on your mac, tell us your mountings and hwo you start the game. Also try to disable music with uinstall.exe and try the game again - just to narrow down where it fails you.

Disabling music did not help, neither changing the CD speed settings.

This is how I installed it (runnning with DosBox in the default configuration of 0.72 on MacOSX):

mkdir underworld
cd underworld
mkdir UWDEMO
cd UWDEMO
unzip /tmp/uw_demo1.zip
unzip /tmp/uw_demo2.zip
cd ..
dosbox . (auto-mounts directory "underworld" as drive C)
cd uwdemo
uwconfig
e.g. 0 (no sound)
e.g. 0 (slow machine)
uwdemo

...and there's the error message again.
The same happens with the other machine speed settings (1/2) and sound options (1/2/3/4/5).

Your unpack procedure looks good azumanga. Must be a problem with the Mac version of DOSBox 🙁

No problems here, tried in on my Mac and it worked ok, with sound blaster sound and without. I also tried it using your default.conf that was attached and it worked.

The only thing I can think of is something is different on the PPC, since I have an Intel Mac.
