Hi I was just wondering if it's me or it's supposed to be this way. I recently installed DOSbox .73 and noticed it doesn't show up in my add/remove programs list and I just wondered if it was supposed to be that way.

Try 0.74 and assure that you downloaded it from the official dosbox page.
It's supposed to have start menu entries as well as an entry in the software page.
It shows up in my programs and everything is right, it just doesn't show up in my add/remove list on installed software which I thought was odd. It isn't supposed to be this way?
No, it's not intended to be that way and it's the first time i hear about this.
Maybe the installation was interrupted or corrupted for some reason.
Check the program files folder for uninstall.exe in the dosbox directory.
No version of DOSBox I've installed has ever created the registry keys necessary for it to appear in the Windows add/remove programs list. Actually, I like that it doesn't touch the registry. The uninstall program and menu shortcuts to it work fine without being added to the add/remove list, IMO.
Ok guess i mixed that up pretty badly 🙁
It was just something I was wondering about and wasn't a major deal, just like having that list so I know what is installed or not.
The installer script is very light on the registry and does not make the registry entry required to add it to the Add/Remove list.

I rather like it being light on the registry. It makes it easy to wipe out DOSBox if I run into trouble. The only problem with this is that I have not run into real trouble yet. The only excitement is when I change versions. I like my computer systems to be boring. Thank you.
This is in marked contrast to SQL Express which refuses to reinstall after an uninstall and has unintelligible error messages about what allegedly went wrong.
