I was asking for PAS support a while ago, but have to agree with your conclusion.

The main benefit, at least IMO, is that there are some games that offer Stereo FM with the PAS. However, many of these games support the MT-32 anyway.

There are likely a few games that don't support the MT-32 and do offer Stereo FM via PAS, so for such games having PAS support in DOSBox would be of interest.

But this list of games must be quite short...
