I recently got myself a Ageia PhysX standalone PCI card.

I've been trying to collect all the free games and tech demos that was released. I've found them all (some were extremely hard to find, or had to download from shoddy places) except for one. I know VOGONS have come to the rescue before with missing files on the internet. Maybe you can do it again?

There are no archive for the Ageia period of PhysX cards, NVIDIA kind of deleted everything for the standalone cards and nobody took much care after the fad died down. I plan on uploading everything onto vogonsdrivers very soon, so anyone else getting a card can download the full package.

Missing techdemo is:

- carwash.exe 14.2mb (previously available at http://www.fileplanet.com/187286/download/PhysX-Carwash and http://www.ageia.com/web_downloads/carwash.exe)

Maybe it's hidden here: https://archive.org/details/FileplanetFiles_185000-187999 Just a 264GB download... 😵

Edit: Started the download and theres a mention of carwash.exe in a logfile in beginning of the tar file. ETA 6 days+ 😵

Yes, I also found that post.

I've created a user over at phyxinfo forums, just waiting for it to get approved. Maybe someone got it there.

Why don't archive.org make such huge files available as torrents?

Is this too much voodoo?

Well, I can ask the archive.org guys. It'll probably be made a torrent if we wait long enough tho, I think their system automatically makes them.

Ah, okay then. Thanks.

[EDIT] I'd forgotten some of this stuff:

https://archive.org/details/FileplanetFiles_185000-187999
links to:
https://archive.org/download/FileplanetFiles_ … 5000-187999.tar (the aforementioned 264 GB file.)

Well, for future reference, you can expand *most* compressed files within archive.org's file repository (*not* The Wayback Machine) by adding a slash at the end, like so:
https://archive.org/download/FileplanetFiles_ … 000-187999.tar/
which in this case archive.org converts to:
https://ia600300.us.archive.org/tarview.php?t … 5000-187999.tar

You can therefore download carwash.exe from the following link:
http://archive.org/download/FileplanetFiles_1 … d%2Fcarwash.exe

Thanks everyone for helping out digging this techdemo up!

Again Vogons come to the rescue!

I'll put together a PhysX archive on vogonsdrivers, but I think it should have it's own category. There is also a difference with software made for the PPU and later Nvidia GPU supported demos. All the Nvidia stuff is still available very easily from Nvidia themselves, but I've downloaded it as well, as you never know when they'll take it down.

I've also acquired all the PPU driver releases.

Btw, if people want to aquire a PhysX PPU card, now is the time, as prices are low. They will become more rare and more expensive in the future.

Is 14.2 MB the correct filesize for carwash.exe ?

Apparently you need the PhysX PPU libraries for this.
On my GTX 480 system I get the following error message:

"PhysX Error"
"Failed to load PhysX Cooking Library"

That is to be expected. It's made for the PPU

Anyway, Squallstrife have created a category for PhysX on vogonsdrivers. Expect files to be available soon.

I also found out I'm missing one techdemo/game. Hangar of Doom. Luckily it was included on the BFG PhysX card, which I just found CIB (the box is awesome!) and is on its way to me in the mail:

Guys, all the PPU supported games, demos, benchmarks, drivers and mods that is OK to upload are now available on Vogonsdrivers:

http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/index.php?catid= … &menustate=32,0

It's taken a while to acquire everything, but enjoying your PPU card should be a tad easier.

Is there any significant difference between PCI and PCI-E versions? How about Dell OEM ones?
