Now I have an older 3com and a realtek pci network card with a 32pin DIP socket, my bios chip is a 32pin PLCC. Is it possible to get a DIP32 to PLCC32 adapter on ebay and then flash my bios this way? I don't really want to drop the 50+ bucks on a flash programmer I'd seldom use. ITs for an Abit NF7-S2G that I screwed up the flashing on making it impossible to post.

Depends on the type and capacity of the flash chip, the supported capacity on the network card and the supported cards / chips in the flashing software.

I've had success with a 29F001, RTL8139B and the flashrom tool: https://www.flashrom.org/Supported_hardware
