Hi.
I am sitting with this mysterie card. All I know is that it is an ET3000 and I can get an image when using it.

There is no real markings or anything on this card, in order to identify the maker, the model number or
anything else about this card.

Because of this, I do not have any manual or anything that can leed me to the jumper settings and to
the dip switch settings.

Drivers are no problem getting a hold on, as they are all over the place on various FTP servers.

It looks like this one:
http://www.amoretro.de/2012/07/tseng-labs-et3 … -512kb-isa.html

I guess jumpers would be the same as on other similar ET3000 based cards.

Hey, that card looks familiar! I think I've got the same (in working condition). I'll check after weekend. 😀

Edit: I had time right now and captured some photos. The card works in its current configuration.

It deos look like it's the exact same model...
However the page does not provide any info on the settings and maker. 🙁

Seems like a fairly common 3000 card. Just a shame that I can not find documentation on them dip switches.
One jumper is for IRQ selection. No question about that. Yet the rest! Hmmm....

I'd assume the DIP switches are using the default order as on most EGA/VGA cards.
I have a very similar model from Ara International Co. Ltd. http://retronn.de/imports/hwgal/hw_graphics_c … 00ax_front.html

Hmmm.... Is it possible that these makers of ET3000 cards, just used Tseng's referance board/design?

On the good part. I have sniffed something about the setting's on a website full of old stuff.
I have copied it to a txt document, and I really need some input on if this is correct.

If you look at my picture the DIPs are set to OFF OFF OFF OFF which is the VGA configuration. If you doubt the settings plug a EGA Monitor and change DIPs to EGA config. If you get signal then this DIP config is working as well.
Be aware that some cards feature EGA/VGA monitor auto detection, so plug only EGA for this test.
You can go on if you have a IBM monochrome monitor...
In normal VGA operation with a multi-sync monitor only OFF OFF OFF OFF is relevant.

Nice... I must admit, that I was asking about the configuration options in the first place, because I have this urge to know as much as I can about hardware that I own. And if it is hard to find online. I just keep on working, untill I find it one way or another. Asking on Vogons is last resort. 😁

Anyway....
I will however only be using this card with an flatscreen monitor. The reason is that whenever I fire up an CRT monitor, my girlfriend is having a hard time. She is extremely sensitive to high pitch noises, that 90% of all people can not hear. So... When I fired up that Unisys EGA monitor that I have, she had a real hard time. I guess this will only do, when she is not at home. (she can hear it in the room next to my computers).

It's sad that she is so sensitive.... But hey... There has to be room for everyone right? 😀

Yup..... Most "ugly-flatscreen-image-generating" thingy in my collection. 🤣
This card will most likely be used as an EGA card on rare ocasions.

Is this a fault or result of local RF regulations ?
I heard rumors about VGA signals beeing artificially limited because of radio regulations.

I dont know if it is a regulation thingy or something.
For what I know, this is a result of the monitor not being completely compatible with the VGA signal it self.
The TFT/LCD monitor thinks it is a different signal and interpreate it the way it should not.
Basically speaking. An old CRT monitor is the best way to go, unless you have a TFT that can handle it.

My monitor can not. It is an Samsung Syncmaster 172v and thus limiting it with a decent ISA/VL-Bus card,
it is not completely gone. I have a CL5424 wich is giving only a slight interferance, as an example.
