Seriously, there appears to be nothing online about this version, only the DOS one. The one I remember having growing up had a Windows GUI, clearer sound effects, and different music in places. It also didn't have the black bar at the top with Genie's face, just a smokey lamp, like the Genesis version. I'm not imagining this one's existence, right? Anyone know where I can possibly find it, or info about it?

I don't know if I am of any help here, but I've seen a Mobygames entry for a Windows Aladdin game from '96 (by Virgin)..
According to the cover art (if some can call it like that), there must also be a GoG release by now. 😀

Fun fact: Another Windows Disney game (Lion King) was the inspiration for DirectX.

Edit: You were faster. 😁
Edit2: Link fixed.

A bit late to inspire DirectX in 1996 when it was already underway in 1995 (not to mention earlier windows platformer ports like Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure that pushed the whole win95 gaming experience thing early on)

Exactly, I thought the same! Strangely, Wikipedia says something similar as the Mobygames trivia.
As I understand, there was an earlier Win 3.1 version using WinG that was said to have caused trouble of some sort.
