Guessing you clamp that onto a cord?

Yup. It measures mag flux generated by current through the wire.

Catch is that "cord" needs to be a "+" or "L" (phase), only.
Otherwise it will show rubbish (because magnetic fields generated by current going to and from measured device will cancel each other out).
It can measure DC/AC Voltage/Current (it has both clamp and option to connect probe wires), it can search for cables in walls, measure caps, resistors and check diods.

Something I'm planning on getting in the near future. I have a multimeter that beeps when there's continuity and has a backlight for reading the numbers easily at night.

I'm messing with an Asus P5Q Deluxe P45 Socket 775 motherboard bundle I picked up yesterday.

It came with 8GB DDR2 memory, a low end CPU cooler and a quad core CPU, the seller diddn't know the exact model.

The CPU turned out to be a Q9450 which is both nice and and not so nice. Nice because it's an non gimped Yorkfield with 12MB cache, not so nice because of the 8x multiplier limiting overclocking.

A quick and dirty overclock resulted in 8x475 for 3800 MHz with full stability. The board would do 8x450=3600 with really low voltages and 475 MHz FSB seems to be the point were if I go beyond I really have to ramp up the voltages beyond totally safe 24/7 settings. It's still a very decent result for a quick overclock that took a few minuts to set up considering the board runs 4x2GB DDR2 memory and that the CPU cooler is a small Cooler Master Hyper TX 2 with push pins.

I also have the Q9550 (E0), the Q9650, QX9650 and some modified S771 Xeons to play with and I'm confident that this board will be able to push those pretty far so I'm happy with my purchase.

I reapplied some thermal paste on my laptop. It looked like this when I opened it up. Nice job, someone.

^ This was me when I was putting on new thermal compound on my IBM ThinkPad R40 (didn't have any), but, I was pretty darn lucky the CPU didn't get cooked, and the heatsink/fan combo was clean as a whistle (no dust). It's been a while since I last posted on here. On Saturday when I received the wireless card I won, an Intel Dual-Band Wireless AC 7260, I installed it into my laptop and found out the Bluetooth was turned off completely, so I covered pin 51 on the wireless card and I have Wireless AC (867Mbps) and Bluetooth on my ASUS X54C laptop and I will upgrade the GPU to either a Core-i3 2310M or Core-i5 2450M CPU since the Sloweron B820 isn't enough for watching YouTube videos at 1080p @ 60FPS or 30FPS, but, it's a PITA to get to the CPU, so my other plan is to replace the motherboard that's having issues with a new one and attempt to find an 8GB DDR3L RAM and see if the laptop can get 12GB or 10GB for Windows 10.

I came to the stunning realization that my Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G card didn’t like the few days of Etherium mining I threw at it, and it has glitched out spectacularly on things like Spotify:

But I persevered, at least until I decided to run an OpenCL memory test on a whole 6GB, which locked up my GPU, so I had to hard power off and swap it for my older GTX 960. I *guess* that’s still modern, right?

Installed 3GB of DDR2 RAM onto my Compaq Presario C700 notebook since I took the 2GB stick out and installed it into my mom's Dell Inspiron 1525 notebook that I'm still working on.

Put in fresh washer fluid and replaced the wiper blades on my mom's brake plague (2007 Chevy Uplander), and filled up the power steering fluid in my Golden Oldie (2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue) since it was severely low (leaking).

Changed the spark plugs on my Intrigue (has over 116,500 on it) and I'm getting deep diagnostics on the car tonight to see which other sensor is broken.

Pain in the neck to replace the rear ones, but worth every penny I spent on the plugs. The old ones were worn to the teeth and I'm glad I changed them.

Disassembled a stock FX 8320 HSF and swapped the noisy fan out for a thicker and quiter fan off an old OEM Athlon 64 heatsink. May not be enough for a 125 watt cpu, but it seems to keep a 95watt Phenom iix6 icy cold

My friend and I replaced the O2 sensor on the exhaust system (after the catalytic converter) and it doesn't stall any longer (fires up the first try). Going to replace the thermostat since my car is overheating (no leaks on the hoses, and perfect coolant levels) and put a patch on my exhaust since the part from the middle to the muffler that connects to the catalytic converter split in two when I was test driving the car after replacing the O2 sensor.
