Hello
I tried to put a scratch screen protector(=plastic with silicon adhesive side) to a ordinary plastic cover screen lens and immediately the plastic screen lens started flaking off and corroding with millions of tiny plastic pieces. Similarly if you try to mix acrylic and alkyd spray paints.

The screen lens got ruined. It just started creating more and more tiny plastic flakes when I tried to clean and rub them off.

The screen lens was +14 year old from 2004-2005 made in china product.

I don't know the reason the screen lens looked fine until I applied the protector

Did the modern screen protector's silicon adhesive cause some kind of chemical reaction ?
or
Was the screen lens already "sun damaged" and the screen protector just started ripping off those multiple tiny cracks ?
