I think that it might be want you need. The link above is the PCGamingWiki article which tells you how to fix the mouse issues on Windows 8.1 and later. There is also more information on the page to increase the game's FPS to 60 and other related things.

Thanks for the link. The more I mess with this game the more comfortable I get using the mouse/keyboard combo like a fps. I find that decreasing mouse sensitivity helps offset the "barf bag" necessity.
