So now I've got 2 gateway boards and on neither of them the PS2 ports work, one is a GP6-400 board the other is a GP7 450 board, on neither board does the PS2 keyboard port work at all, and if anything is hooked into the mouse port it stops the post and locks up the system, anyone got any idea's on this

odd issue it seems the case is causing the issue, once it's removed from the case it works fine, its only inside the gateway case, both boards i have for it work fine externally.

Especially considering your boards are fine outside of this case, my guess would be either a short or some problem with grounding.
And check the case near the point where the keyboard connector exits the case.

Also check your PSU.

I'm going to try isolating the board with electrical tape on the stand offs, I/o panel , and some directly under the ps2 stack see if that helps

Did you already resolder the DIN connectors?
The pressure from the grounding spring can be sufficient to disconnect some cold solder connections.

No i have never solder on this board ever, like i said the connectors work fine outside of the case, and after i put electrical tape around the I/O sheild and the bottom of the case where some rivets where it now works
