I bought a Toshiba Tecra 8000 for the best mobile DOS gaming experience possible, but so far I'm not real happy with it. The speakers produce a loud hissing sound as soon as you turn it on, and it's still noticeable with external speakers connected. The volume of it changes with the volume of the dial in front. I thought the motherboard was bad so I ordered a replacement but it has the same problem. I don't think it's the speakers themselves either because I removed the palm rest entirely and the external speakers still hiss. It's also not the rear audio jacks because I tested without those connected. Is that just how this model is? I have a 335CDT as well and it only hisses at very high volumes and has the same audio chip.
