Hello all. This will be my first post here on Vogons, but I've been a LONG time lurker and "vintage" PC collector. I usually am hesitant to post on forums, as I know there's been 20+ years of discussion on similar topics to mine, but I'm just not making any progress.
Windows 98SE
Pentium 3 1000MHz (Socket 370)
ASUS CUV4X-V (Apollo Pro 133z)
512mb PC133
GeForce FX5500
SB Live! SB0060 with VXD drivers (From Phils Computer Lab, and associated links here on Vogons)
I can't seem to get my game port, or more specifically my Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro to work at *all*. I have tried everything from downloading multiple drivers, to changing channel settings, messing with my bios. I am just completely out of options and would really like this to work. I've read statments similar to "Via had sucky AGP not to mention severe compatibility issues with Live /Audigy cards", and I can't help but think that's what I'm running into currently. This sound card *WAS* completely functional in my IBM Aptiva V66XA equipped PC, both with sound and game port functionality.
At this point, even if I could get the onboard Game Port to work, and just use my SB0060 for sound purposes I would. But I hit a brick wall there as well.
I really just want to Play A-10 Cuba, and eventually buy a Gravis Gamepad. But that's not happening if I can't at least get this flight stick to work.
You guys are awesome, thanks!
