yesterday i spent more than an hour looking at wayback machine tryint go get official info on some motherboards, and drivers too but each time i hit the motherboard selection page using waybay i juts got to a wall and could not see anything. also the drivers download area was imposible to access, tried many years like 2000. 2001, 2002, 2003 and no go.

then i saw this link online and found a trick on how to actually access every motherboard editing the wayback link

for example you can go to this link:

https://web.archive.org/web/20030701014618/ht … PRODUCT_ID=1410
on the dropdown menu you can select many models and i seems working.

But that link does not have older or full list of boards
so you can go here
https://web.archive.org/web/20040815174603/ht … PRODUCT_ID=1217

--then select any board from the dropdown list ,click on GO, and wait for wayback to fail.
--then look at the failed link , in the middle of the screen, it will give you the product_ID= of the motherboard
--then you can just edit the link with the product_ID you want and wayback shows the info of the motherboard.

Not only that i was able to download files like BIOS, drivers and manuals (which no other site on google hosted)

hope this helps for you all that got old DFI boards

Very Nice ! Someone should archive them all. I had trouble finding info on the DFI G686IPA and found it thru elhvb.com but there is not many boards newer than Socket 8

Hate posting a reply and have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. 🤣 Second computer a 286 12Mhz with real IDE drive ! After that came 386, 486, Pentium, P.Pro and everything after....

Yep ! for some reason the links with "/ftp/" or "ftproot" in the file link are dead.
Here is another .TW archive of my board: https://web.archive.org/web/19970525202045/ht … ard/G686IPA.htm
bios links: https://web.archive.org/web/19970525193757if_ … OS&Drivers1.htm
Here are some DFI 386 to 686 archives: https://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/Archive/Dfi/ma … uals/index.html
and some more: https://www.elhvb.com/supportbios.info/Archiv … /DFI/index.html >> but many are empty folders !

That's nice, but I mean, "evasive" the web admin of elhvb is on VOGONS too, so...

Many thanks for sharing this, I could finally find an updated BIOS for my DFI CS62-TC motherboard this way. The first time I entered BIOS section (on the left blue menu), it appeared empty, but after going to "Driver" and then clicking on "Bios" again, the list finally appeared.

Great yhot ! Glad you found what you needed.
Wish an admin would add a new section under Marvin, the Paranoid Android called Hardware Archive links (or similar). If we had that and were allowed to create new Topics then we could create a topic for each found good "company" source and others could add to them as they find sources. Something like this topic and the Intel board bios/driver topic could be moved there for easier searching and finding stuff relative to each manufacture that has wiped their ftps or driver libraries of older stuff.. Just a thought....

I will chime in to say that the fact that both Asus and Gigabyte both still offer downloads and documentation for products from over 20 years ago is laudable . OK, some of Asus' support pages are broken , like https://www.asus.com/supportonly/PVI-486SP3/H … pDesk_Download/ , but at least they did not intentionally wipe any sign of their legacy products from the face of the planet . Obviously, the fact that both Asus and Gigabyte are still in business certainly helps .

Opening this topic back up. Found 5 manuals for 686IPA and 686IPB by using the wildcard * on www.dfi.com
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dfi. … ownload/manual/* and type 6i in the filter box
no BIOS for it but found some other older boards: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dfi. … /download/bios/*

Also at www.dfi.com.tw most of the manuals and bios are found in the /upload folder not http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/* Note may get a script error in some browsers as it returns "5,305 URLs have been captured" once finished,
and typing MAN in filter returns 18 pages of pdf manuals and typing PDF in filter gets 22 pages...
but you have to know the bios and manual name which can be found using your technique mentioned above...

thats an amazing find
on my method some of the really old motherboards are not available in the dropdown menu, for example many socket7 boards
but with your method you can check if there are bios and manuals for them
