Unreal engine games worked on my card without any ini tweaks or alternate DLL files.
and also what version number your unreal is?
As noted earlier, I'm using UT99 GOTY (v4.32), Unreal Gold (v2.26b) and Deus Ex GOTY (v1.112fm). Those are stock versions from the CDs, with no extra patches. All of them worked out of the box with my YMF724 using this driver:
yamaha_dsxg_driver_win_95_98_me_v._4.07.1040__directx7_certified_.exe
that I got from Phil's website. Operating system was Windows 98SE and sound was played via headphones. No ini tweaks, no alternate DLLs. It was enough to enable 3D Audio in the relevant menus:
- For UT99 GOTY go to Options > Preferences > Use Hardware 3D Sound.
- For Unreal Gold, press the tilde key (~) to open the console and type "preferences". Then, go to Audio > Use3dHardware > True.
- For Deus Ex GOTY go to Settings > Sound > Hardware 3D Support > On.
The Sensaura logo/sound should fire as soon as you tick those options, and afterwards every time you start the game.
