For those who don't know (or remember) Machines was one of the first 3D real time strategy game ever released. As with many experimental RTS games of that time, it had it fair share of flaws, but one interesting feature was that you could control each unit in first person mode as well. About a year ago a fan made source port was released making the game run via OpenGL and SDL on Windows 10 and for the first time on Linux. Few months ago an update was released in which you could increase draw distance and added support for high resolution textures. The developer kept a low profile, but now Night Dive Studios who owns the rights has released the source code and they had an agreement.
