Previously, in my troll PC part2 build, we got cock-blocked by the outdated AGP interface, which meant that the 2GHz Celeron was being held back by only having access to older DX9 graphics cards.
Well, today we're getting an upgrade - a S478 motherboard with 16x PCIe! Asrock P4VM890, with VIA P4M890 chipset and 2GB dual channel DDR400 memory!
For graphics, we'll use ATI's flagship, the DX10 powerhouse, the 512-bit Radeon HD2900XT! How can the puny 384-bit 8800GTX even try to compete? We'll also use Windows Vista as the OS to take full advantage of DX10!
For sound, I cant think of a better choice than Creative, especially for Windows Vista. So we'll use the SB0410, aka Live! 24-bit. Allegedly the best hardware-accelerated 3D audio for the price!
All packed up in a small micro ATX case with acceptable cable management.
For games, I'll run games from the period, ~2004-2008. Naturally, we'll crank the settings up to high and run it in glorious 720p HD READY!
Lets go!
My builds!
The FireStarter 2.0 - The wooden K5
The Underdog - The budget K6
