so either the trace is damaged, or the resistor, or the diode.

I once had an Epox MVP3-G5 that discharged any 3V lithium cell within one day.
The culprit was a ceramic capacitor between Ubatt and ground that had an insufficient insulation resistance.
Took me quite a while to find it.
