Is there any disadvantage to disabling ACPI? (I think it just enables automatic poweroff when you shutdown Windows?) (sorry if this is a bit off topic from the Orpheus)

EDIT: Disregard. I can disable ACPI in the BIOS but it still doesn't free IRQ 2. I've looked into ModBin to modify the BIOS but it looks like the option to free the IRQ isn't present (and isn't hidden). I'll just have to use IRQ 3 it seems.

Is it OK to use the IRQs assigned to the COM and LPT ports as long as I'm not actively using those ports? (or do I need to disable them in BIOS)

Disable the COM ports you aren't using in the BIOS. The PC MIDI section should work fine on IRQ 3. Just make sure the IRQ is reserved for Legacy/ISA in the BIOS so another device doesn't grab it.

Has the pcmidi.eu website gone, has it moved to another site?
Or is it a temporary problem?

I just wanted to download the software again and I googled the Orpheus 2, clicked on the pcmidi.eu link and I got an 404 error, it linked me to the https site and not to the non secured http site.

I was trying out the Orpheus II with Crusader: No Remorse and ran into an issue. During the movie sequences, the audio starts stuttering after about 10 seconds or so. It will stutter for a few seconds before returning to normal, but then will stutter again after another 10 seconds or so.

This only seems to happen during the movie sequences. In-game audio appears to be okay.

I'm running this on a Pentium 4 651 @ 3.4 GHz (see signature link for system details).

I've tested this with the Orpheus II, Orpheus II LT, and Orpheus I. I tested the Orpheus II LT and Orpheus I with both the Orpheus drivers and Unisound. This issue persists in all cases.

I also tested a Yamaha Audician 32 and AWE64 on the same platform with Unisound. Both of those cards are fine and movie playback audio doesn't have any issues.

Is there any tweaks or suggestions I can try? Or is this possibly an incompatibility with Crusader and the Crystal audio chip?

I will be testing some fresh LT boards later so I will also try the game and report back if I get the same issue

I am getting the same issue - resources or install size make no difference
after applying updates for 1 time the game ran in Soundscape more (WSS from what I can tell) with better quality and no movie stutters but after this one time it never ran again like that... looks like the sound driver does something that the CS4237 does not like
