Hi,
I have a card as stated in the topic. The board does not recognize it. Seems like it's missing a few components:
- C129, a four path SMD cap?
- C843, C328, C123 and C356 SMD caps

Also, the chip had and aftermarket cooler installed with double-sided tape ... might be that the GPU is cooked as well.
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas about the values for those caps - I'd be interested in giving it a shot to repair.
I'm not new to SMD soldering.

The VGA museum has a somewhat decent picture of it. My lighting is really bad, and I'm not able to access the microscope at this time.

How about some photos of the board where the parts are missing ?

C356 is likely the same as C257 & C344
C129 yep, looks like some multi capacitor package. it's also populated on some of the boards and some do not have it.
layout of the components on the back of the board around the location of the main IC looks a lot like https://www.vgamuseum.info/images/palcal/nvid … x_bottom_hq.jpg
also the asus and msi ones... likely a reference design.
C843 , C842 decoupling caps, likely the same as 841 840

C123 & C328 seem like the ones to focus on getting back.

As it happens I have a complete version of this Hercules card here with pcb marking rev C00.
The missing parts on your card are:

C129 = same as C133
C843 = same as C841
C842 = same as C841
C328 = same as C214
C356 = same as C357
C123 = same as C108

Thanks! Still need to figure out some values.
These for 20-30e incl. shipping on eBay, so we'll see what I'll do to this.

MSI MS-8817 (some version)
