New Pentium class PC working with DOS would be nice. But SW licensing can be killer. Without BIOS, DOS such machine is dead. Success depends on features and end user functionality.

I measured it, it is around 20nF, so capacitance would be 22nF. Probably, I could put capacitor instead of EMI filter and short two power line pins, but maybe replacement exist ? I am afraid, poor repair will only bring more noise then no filter at all 😀 Any suggestions how to go are welcome.

Number should be 223. Tried to find this element on Internet with no luck, but maybe replacement exists.

I think it is EMI filter (3 legs) with number 233, on +12V line, but could be special type. Or maybe I can shorter two power pins …

It can be one ISA card with two audio subsystems - CMS and OPL2, but you are right - building just CMS will be simpler and it seems, I can order ready PCBs for OPL2 from Sergey. Just need some time this year. Anyway, I have to get SB with CMS chips for reference.

Depends where you live. Adding additional $ for shipping and $ for possible customs make it quite expensive (plus risk it is faulty one). Having design ready I can have as much cards as I want 😀 Assuming chips are still available, of course.

Considering prices of old SBs - has anybody tried to build CMS card from scratch ? Even YM3812 + 2xSAA1099 do not look difficult.
