Re: Metal Gear Solid PC

in Windows
 I managed to run MGS on XP with GeForce 8800GT in hardware mode! I used vista-fixed exe file from here I can post screens if you dont believe me :) I have 2 problems now: 1) controller does not work - I can assign keys in options menu by pressing buttons on pad, but they do not work in …

Re: Metal Gear Solid PC

I will also experiment with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 in my girlfriend's laptop. System Shock 2 was running fine so I hope MGS will too. I have a PS2 Dual Shock hooked up to my pc via usb adapter - I hope PC version of MGS will be able to take advantage of it.

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

I tried it and it works (kind of ;) ) - I still get the title bar on top and taskbar at the bottom (ugly in 256 colors) but at least I do not have to manually switch resolutions every time I want to play. Perhaps somewhere I did something not exactly as I was supposed but I am content with what I …

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

That's exactly what's happening - when I set 640x480 compatability and run the game, the screen flickers for a moment, as if to switch to that resolution, but then stays on 1024x768. The lowest resolution in the slider in Screen Properties is 800x600, I could set 640x480 using ATI's CCC but then all …

Then why do you want Hendroz to make it playable under windows XP. Even if there were problems, any effort would be a waste. Remember that the Windows version will never be playable on many new PCs (any 64 bit Vista machine and future versions of Windows) natively. Best to use the DOS version in …

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

Well if it takes ages then don't save/load that much. Or of course wait until Hendroz finds this page/forum/posting. Since it's a sierra game, where you can die or get stuck easily, saving and restoring is unavoidable. The Windows version works like a charm (with Windows 95 compatability option), …

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

Well, for me it is yet another "it's not a bug, it's a feature" excuse. What is the rationale behind this decision? Why in Gabriel Knight (and a dozen other Sierra games) there is a possibility of simultaneous text and speech, while in Freddy Pharkas there is not? I think it is simply an ommision, …

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

Hello, anyone knows how can I contact Enrico Ralfi (Hendroz)? I looked through the page mentioned in the thread, I also tried googling him, but to no avail. I wanted to kindly ask him to meddle with the Freddy Pharkas CD version the way he did with gabriel knigh - making it playable under windows XP …

Re: Hi i would like to run my game Freddy Pharkas on CD with music, sound, voice speech and text too TOGETHER..

I am having exactly same problem with freddy pharkas CD version. Has anyone found a solution yet? (I have just written to Al Lowe, maybe he can help :) ) Or perhaps a guy who made an WinXP installer for Gabriel Knight CD could help? I noticed that the original FPFP windows installer is very similar …

Re: Metal Gear Solid PC

Sorry, I haven't done it yet, I'm still waiting for a friend of mine to give me the DirectX7 SDK with debugging libraries and a copy of Visual Studio 6.0 (well, I could manage without them if I was an assembly guru, but I'm not). Take your time :) I can wait :) If you succeeded that would be great. …

Hello, I have the exact same problem with hardware rendering (or rather lack thereof) Download and execute DXCAPSVIEWER7 from this page: http://www.bitmanagement.de/developer/?page=/contact/tips.html Then go to "Direct3D Devices", open "Primary Display Device" or "Hardware Emulation Layer", open " …
