I could only get my old SB32 pnp, which is very similar to the AWE32, in pure DOS by installing Windows 3.xx drivers.

I guess you'll only be able to increase resolution if you get glide working. Activision games from mid 90's had 2 choice or fixed resolution in accelerated modes.

Is it possible to use this driver in other Unreal Engine games? the 227 patch installs this driver but I cannot get it to work under Postal2: STP. Would it be possible?

You can create a profile for the game using nvidia control panel with extension limit on.

Doomsday and zdoom are your best bets, the 1st one if you want to use OpenGL acceleration and effects or the 2nd if you want the original graphics (with the option to run in hi-res modes as well).

I have a 8800GTX and it runs ok (except for menus). Have you installed the latest patch? (I think it's version 3.2.2)

Personal Experience on Rally 2k and Falcon 4.0 is easily found at nvidia's forums. Both share the same issue.

The mega-slowdown issue was fixed. The AA issue on Falcon 4.0 and Rally 2K still remains.

These are mostly fixed on the new 25x.xx series driver (at least on Windows XP).

GTA has been fixed since one of the 19x.xx. Rename their .exes to "Grand Theft Auto.exe" and GTA, London 69 and 61 will work. The issues fixed by new drivers are mainly low fps on DX 5 and 6 games, but they also solve some crashing.

Have you tried the same version in your current desktop? (there's a newer one now, 258.96, for all OSes) The 2xx.xx for XP fixes several issues regarding older games.

The dynamic core gives the best performance, but it's still not 100% under a few games, specially simple ones. It crashes DOSBox after 5 seconds upon launching Cartooners. The Windows 3.x version of Nitemare 3D works fine under XP 32 bits, you just can't switch to full screen mode or it'll lock-up, …

It may need a TSR for the sounds to work properly, like my old SB32 PnP did.

Some games may need the soundcard to emulate a Sound Blaster if they don't recognize the Yamaha.
