Ah, that's pretty useful. Probably beyond what the PEXHDCAP60l and SC512N1-DVI/L can do (though as mentioned before, someone did show that particular model CAN handle DOS input, but still skeptical about it working right on driver revisions beyond 140).

Curious: how does the DVI2PCIe handle games that switch refresh rates? The two big DOS titles I know that do so are Epic Pinball and Jazz Jackrabbit. I alao tried to get in touch with Modern Vintage Gamer about the Micomsoft SC512 regarding that, but never got a response.

Yeah, and this was from a fresh install and update. I will see if copying the Galaxy driver from my Unreal Gold install will do anything. Also will see how it works with A3D-Live installed.

Yeah, that is basically the only way for me to play it. Was just wondering, since I read inconsistent things on other sites that people supposedly got the original audio driver working in newer versions of Windows.

Yeah, gave it a shot with NX Bit disabled. Wound up the exact same result. I'm wondering if there's something with Windows 10 (as well as versions going back to 7) that breaks compatibility with the Galaxy audio driver for the game?

Thing is, I can't generate a report. The window just freezes as the game opens up. I switch over to the new OpenAL renderer, and the game runs as intended.

Curious, has anyone had UT99 just outright crash on Windows 10 with the Galaxy Audio Driver selected? I mean, the game works just fine on the Win98 box, and on this if I have a different driver selected. Just curious as to why Galaxy crashes.

I happen to own Golden Axe on the original 5.25" disks. I can confirm that 100% movement to either side of the horizontal axis counts as dashing (which is just a double-tap of left or right on any other port). I gotcha now. It's a shame that the board seems to also lack decent performance with universal AGP cards. The PC/PCI connector does make for a worthwhile backup plan for a proper Yamaha card at least.

I'm confused, why would the SE440BX-2 board that I have include the PC/PCI connector if it already has a Yamaha YMF740-C integrated into it? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having the connector in the first place?

I am curious as to whether or not the Radeon 8500 mode supports TruForm. I know some games like Neverwinter Nights supported it for rounder models and such.

I swear, ya gotta be kiddin' me, computer. I swapped out the FX with my old Hercules 3D Prophet II MX (card I bought for my first gaming computer ever, which was a budget machine), bumped core/mem to 200/190, and 3DMark99 is giving me a score of over 7,000. I've used everything from 56.64 to 9x.xx with no difference in performance. Though strangely when doing a benchmark of Quake III, the objects/projectiles/gunflares either lose textures or have glitches. This issue happens on all driver versions used.
