IIRC the unreleased 3dfx Napalm wasn't a Glide-supporting card in the state it was left in and it's pretty fruitless to emulate an obscure prototype as an end-all solution. ....after a TSR is loaded. Many WSS cards carried this chip and needed a TSR loaded to initialize a sound blaster mode. at least there's a ymf262-m on it

Camra2 predates Pentium III by many months.(and doesn't really require it, not for speed nor for sse - it's quite capped and ran roughly the same everywhere iirc) where are you getting your information from

well yeah, there is of course those amiga-developed multiplatform games which desired square pixels from the start - but it's not how DOS enjoyed them then. This would have different if Abrash's ModeX technique were more popular and computer monitors were more tolerable
