Cyrix doesn't make Pentiums. "496/497" has nothing to do with the CPU. This is not a bug nor is it a glitch.

With XP, you've got the choice of those later buggy PCIe->AGP bridged cards that support DX10 but still function ok for DX9 on XP. AGP4x is not going to have the 'best XP card'. However if you're dualbooting with 98, you have to stick with the limits of what that supports.

I think a nice 486 could go in the left case. Turbo button power!!! And it's got that keyboard lock 😀 This is also factoring on the possibility of the display on the right being 2 digits, a bit more appropriate for 386 on that one.

also guys remember, if it includes installs for DX9, it's not always the case of requiring DX9. Like Doom3, which can run just fine without DX9 installed. The similar should be applied to lower DirectX versions

If i'm going to use an accelerated port for recreated software looks, it would be DirectQ. It's STILL the only port out there that recreates the waterwarp and turbulence effects with a pixel shader faithfully.

leileilol, Which Windows port do you use? Personally? My own :) :) :) but it's not exactly purist friendly since it has some rare crashes and the CD audio doesn't work. It's a huge Your Mileage May Vary thing, then again so is every other custom source port ever. I wouldn't recommend it if WinQuake …

Quake will go too fast if you exceed 72fps in DOS. Windows port lacks these issues
