Some WSS cards have SB emulation TSRs however, though those tend to be very finicky. I know Diamond and Turtle Beach had WSS cards with such a TSR coming with their Opti/Crystal Semiconductor-based WSS cards, and therefore can cover Doom, Duke3D, etc..

There's also a few cases where a Win98-era game would not work on Windows XP but works on 7 x64. Starforce games generally refuse to run if you're on a 64-bit OS. Sometimes (but rarely) they do have Starforce-less rereleases on Steam 😀

UT2004's is different because it allows management of team members and having to use your earnings to treat their injuries. It's much less 'straight' than UT and UT2003, even Counter-Strike Condition Zero had to copy this formula in their Turtle Rock incarnation

Yeah it should work fine in theory, FF7 does not have a single bit of alpha blending a Rage will choke over, same deal with FF8.
