I noticed an odd thing with Monster Truck Madness in that it only draws the sky buffer. This bug may affect other games involving the same Terminal Reality 3d engine, though i've only tested MTM (and oddly didn't test Fury3, Terminal Velocity, MTM2, Hellbender, CART Precision Racing).

VRAM doesn't matter very much. Intel onboard w/ 8mb can still cut it through the modern browsers. What really matters are threads and physical memory since the browsers are bloated as hell these days 😁

There's an option for "dirty fast dynamic lighting" that has no falloff and it looks funny :) However it is not a total loss for Maxwurf. He can still extract PAK0.PAK and PAK1.PAK out of there, since it's those two files that matter …

Did your hard drive come with a floppy with partitioning software? That's important. Also I wouldn't try risking Windows 9x on anything bigger than 112gb. There ARE some third-party drivers out there that supposedly fix this, but... risk.

DXGL supposedly has Direct3D 2-6 on the roadmap for the future. For higher DX's there's WineD3D.

Direct3D in PCemFX doesn't work with MDA, CGA and other pre-VGA adapters, don't know if that's a PCem problem therefore it probably is too immature to include shaders in the main tree.

Doom95 uses DirectSound for the audio, so maybe try running dxdiag (included with DirectX 6 and later) and turning the sound acceleration down a notch or two and see if that makes a difference. Remember that PCI sound cards will always be the most finicky with DOS games, I don't know what's up with …

That sort of did get a 'modern' indie remake a few years ago, but it's so cruft filled I want to deny its existence. It was less about Wolfenstein and more about some pretentious love for a 'retro shooter'.... and overcommercialized fictional cartoon ponies. You read that right.

I wouldn't be using an Athlon64 for any Win98/DOS gaming. There are certain vital DMA-related features missing from those later motherboards.... iirc

You WILL need a soundcard for the nForce 3. Do not trust the onboard audio of the nForce 3.
