Using a engine renderer driver (like utglr) with a framerate limiter does help a bit. Windows 98 compatibility mode is another lazy fix.

The plasma weapons were murder to every video card for some reason that made no sense it's like they used many, MANY layers of texture on those plasma smokes just to screw over the PC on purpose.

While I tested the PowerVR conversion files I noticed lasr explosions stick for a few frames longer. I didn't see this in your video swaaye. Additional textures didn't get packed?

Upgrading to a good proper video card's a good idea, but warning - it's a dell. Dell PSUs fry easily. It probably has a FX5200 for a very good reason. Good luck!

Unreal Tournament 2004's a must get just for the wide variety of TCs and addons. There's still some cranking out more for it (including myself). Ballistic Weapons helps gets it up to a more modern feel (though it's ram heavy)

A nice 486-DX4 100/5x86 133 with a turbo button, and a nice P2 300, P3 733, K6 500, Athlon 700 with a decent AGP2/4x card (Geforce4MX? Kyro2? Radeon 7500?) with a Voodoo2 and a PCX2.
