I'd just dual-boot Windows 2000 just to run slightly more modern things at least. I even use it on my 486 (with the service packs even) now how's that for insane computing?

11.5fps timedemo demo1 seems low. My 486 gets 14fps average there. Poor PCI performance? Also, try running the benchmark in ModeX 320x200 and VESA 320x200 (use vid_describemodes and vid_mode to figure out what you have and use it to set it as the video modes menu doesn't cover it all)

On topic of hardware emulators, I still have yet to see a software OPL3 device driver that reads the appropriate ports virtually... (so any FM midi MCI driver could work with it) As for floppies I use VGACopy to copy them as it has a much graphical interface for displaying the floppy data that has …

If your version is new enough (as it should) it would warn you right upon attempting to mount C: (but not other drives even if the Windows were installed on anything but C:) unfortunately, this is still widely disregarded

It's most likely due to the engines reporting GL extensions getting a string way too long. We need more software renderers anyway. N64 has yet to see one (only EXTREMELY GLITCHY/BUGGY renderers exist) and the NDS only just recently got one and is faster than its opengl renderer (no$gba). As for the dithering, as i'm a purist I couldn't live without it (along with its bad affine texture …

Sometimes prepsong.kdm on infinite loop or another quality Ken song is sufficient for productivity. foo_input_kdm exists for that reason (at least another reason other than 'yeaaaaa i'm driving down the road'). It's good programming music. 😀
