How would Allegro handle a second screen? As in secondary display monochrome outputs if that's possible (and more interesting than 64k colors)

I would recommend direct3d since it plays nice with aero, coupled with scale2x forced

I can't find it (exact 320x400) and it seems odd how fresh OEM computer setups are never preserved with things like that. I wish I could factory restore some of mine. Sounds like the usual Interplay black screen buffer bug that also occurs with FALLOUTW.exe. Did you try playing with SFAD3D.EXE which should work differently?

95 yes NT4 HELL NO, it's FPU-heavy and will choke the 486 much and won't be any beneficial for Simcity 2000 on the 486 system. also, 95 won't solve the '486 66mhz isa sluggish svga drawing' problem but it'll most likely have some better display drivers available

That's the thing. You'll eventually want to rebuild all of your favorite computers accurately down to having the video card and sound quirks you can recall. This is the part where Jorpho jumps in and says "why? life's too short play your games"
