Old ports you mean the PCX1-2 SGL versions of games? No, Kyro can not run those at all, but it doesn't stop the PCX from running them. Not so sure about the Neon250. That's a failure no one has.

I wish it would just revitalize and then only write to file instead of an actual disk. I don't want to waste floppies incase something awry goes wrong either

The DOS version comes on the same disc. Check your disc and run the DOS-based installer on it.

They don't improve for the 486, infact go down a little bit (like 5 frames less average on timedemo demo1) but for a Pentium it's a catastrophic loss.

If you compile Quake with only C routines, the performance on both the 486 and Pentium with the same builds at the same clock rates are equal. 😀

Well I wasn't making anything up, NFS did run well. What doesn't run well is Interstate '76, Daytona USA, NASCAR Racing 2, and anything else after the year 1996. 😀

The DOS version also had sounds and music. What it didn't have was that extra zoom level and variable screen resolution back in the day, demos ran themselves!!!!!!!!! get off my lawn! p.s. there is a win95 demo but i'll have to relocate that

I'm bumping this old thread because there was a release in July of this year and this emulator is interesting just for emulating the AMI BIOS alone! I think it needs more attention because although the 486 emulation is very broken, it's noneoftheless very promising. How the July release missed …

NFS will refuse to run in SVGA. Vendor lock-in sucks and NFS doesn't even use real fully blown SVGA (320x480 is more like it, with a 640x480 dashboard)

yes, I did. It was playable, and certainly way better than a dx2/66 with CL VL-BUS card I tried before, but the movement was worse compared to the pentium. Impossible! NFS has a framerate cap and my 486 meets it fine. I don't know what's up with yours though Does 3DBENCH on yours report a number of …
