Re: Getting the most out of Dosbox

I didn't try DOSBox in such a slow device yet, but there may be some generic advice/remarks. It's about the equivalent to a 8-10 Mghz PC. That kind of comparison is not valid. Besides pure processing "power", there are many more factors to consider when comparing the speed of systems - system …

Re: Cut&Paste

Whoops... Wasn't aware of that patch, sorry. But i can't imagine how copy/paste should work, because DOSBox uses graphics mode for output, not character mode, like the W9x DOS boxes, or NTVDM. There are no characters to copy, only pixels. (; Ahh, i've read the patch desc, and i think i understand …

OT: Amigaz, you should at once apologize sincerely for arousing WolverineDK. Who knows which sinful and utterly dirty acts you forced him to do, after pressing him to look at your highly revealing and erotic picture. (; Btw: i had to look at picture for about one minute until i saw what WolverineDK …

Re: _inmm.dll : another solution for problematic CD audio?

in Windows
I wouldn't be too excited about it. Didn't try the program yet (i'm quite reluctant to installing unknown software), but from what you can see in that "Tutorial" (which is, in large parts, incomprehensible), it seems it can only patch a few "known" games. The program patches the game exe, so i can't …

Re: Sound on Ubuntu 8.04

What do you want, a full tutorial on all variations and combination of PC and sound hardware, and Linux distributions (not to mention ALSA and kernel versions)? C'mon, if you're a Linux user, you're supposed to be a little more active. You could start with testing if your soundcard works OK with …

Re: Openglhq and Direct3d in Dosbox

"Good" or "Bad" are not appropriate terms in this case - that should be something like "has many features" or "has not so many features". Ykhwong's builds, btw, had some serious stability problems and bugs in the last few versions he released - i wouldn't call that "good" (no offense meant - i used …

Re: Windows Game Launcher

in Windows
I'm using QSel. The program is easy to use, flexible and can be configured to look quite nice. The website is in german language, but QSel itself is in english language.

Re: Important question about Bad Cat.

OK, now all you have to do is to get rid of the exaggeration "fundamental", and you might have a chance of someone trying to help you. PS: i'm pretty sure all needed files would be included with the original game PPS: who the f*ck is Sotho Tal Ker? Should we know this guy? If you're often talking …

Re: LFN in dosbox

The fact that there's a DOS version of MUGEN doesn't make a MUGEN "game" a native DOS game. Tell me one single "real" DOS game that's using LFN. I would be amazed if there was one, because using LFN for a native DOS game would make it unplayable on its designated platform. The fact that MUGEN …

Re: "Illegal Command" (v0.72)

Besides, the XYZ extension (if it would be registered in Windows) could only be executed by Windows, not inside DOSBox. How should DOSBox know about registered filetypes in Windows? wd: i think there are more elegant ways indeed (;

Re: Phantasmagoria Install

I didn't test that game yet, but i'd use a c: and d: drive (instead of using g: for CD-ROM). To be honest, i can't understand how one could have the idea of using c: and g: as drives, without drive letters "in between". This is just asking for trouble.
