The sempron would probably own the FX 65's ass. I updated my brother to am+ and replaced his 939 rig. i bought cheap 30 dolalr cpu i think it's like 2ghz if that and it's as fast if not slightly faster than his his old 939 2.1ghz dual core even oced, partly due the drr3 i'd guess.

I once bought an Nvidia MX series video card from Wal-Mart back when i still had a crappy P2 computer with XP. I later took the video card and smashed with a big cast iron starter motor, i was upset to say the least. Any time I tried to run a 3D game windows would insta-BSOD.

Has any one seen a 440BX chipset run over 256mb? has any one see one take a low density 512mb? I'm working with some old p3 POS registers and they cap out at 256mb and curiously got the best of me, started wondering about bios mods etc etc. They seem to be a bit obscure the mother boards have one …

I almost always clean with distilled water since it's so darned cheap anyways. The older boards like p3 and lower i probably mind so much cleaned with normal water but, like i said distilled is so cheap plus at home i have well water which has even more minerals in it.

you can also have fans blowing perpendicular to the card. The thing is there is no really good fan less card unless by good you mean doesn't have solder/BGA failure. With out air movement the heat will collect, nothing to settle down the excited atoms.

Raytracing absolutely murders hardware, it's really demanding. A few years ago Carmack tried/started another raytracing experiment i think it just managed 30 fps or maybe it had decent fps but, was a rather small/limited scene.
