Hard to be sure, but that doesn't look like a standard installshield msi, so orca may not help. Are there .cab files in the installer's folder on the CDROM?

retro : Definitely go for a Widescreen monitor - much better value for money, especially those of the 22" 1680x1050 variety. If you plan on playing your DOS games via DOSBox then aspect ratio can be set and controlled via DOSBox itself, otherwise for native DOS game support, as GL1zdA pointed out, …

I've read and understood what we're discussing Minimax and I do not agree that software copyright should not lapse after 14 years. I'm of the opinion that software copyright should be the same or similar to music copyright - that is, 50 years with renewal to the family estate of the original …

Colin, but why then should the Beatles be able to hold copyright for 50 years but Peter Moleyneux should not? People still play HELP to this day via electronic formats that didn't exist when that album was originally released and I'm sure Peter hopes that people will play Fable 2 or Black and White …

Emulation proves that there is a still a valid market for games and other software whose original target platforms and markets have faded into the distance. Software copyright statutes do not need to be mucked with via those who wish to legitimise 'abandonware', it's perfectly fine as it is. It is …

But the nitpicks as you call them are examples of the nature of your self blindsiding - you talk about Privateer in godly terms as a comparison to 'McDonald's gaming' and repetitive FPS games, yet in truth it's one of the same brigade - it was a limited and cookie cutter copy of ELITE squished into …

KAN : Oh god, not more of the 'rules of debating' crap. Please spare me. The internet is filled with failed public speakers who love to quote 'straw man', 'ad hominem' et al....it's so fucking boring...the internet is humming with this constant noise of faux nerd rage... Come on now, how much do you …
