Scratching durabililty aside... the 'best' blank DVDs must IMHO be the (non-CMC!) Taiyo Yuden/JVC 8x DVD+R . At least vs error levels (PIE/PIF). (with longevity/storability not tested sufficently to say either or...) When I one day just for 'fun' tested this error scanning program I randomly had …

Heh, must be my IBM 5150 (at least that is what I think it is), 8086 cpu, 10Megabyte harddrive with 1mb to spare... (size of a brick, not to mention the sounds!). Worked last time I turned it on, but the AST SixPacPlus blew a tantalum when powering up... Still worked though.
