Re: File Timestamp (DOSBOX Windows XP+)

I wasn't intending to start the conversation on whether DOSBox should allow programs to change the timestamps again. I was just asking if anyone was working on adjusting "this" patch? So far it's proven to be beyond my limited programing ability :( My comments about games that require it were more …

Re: File Timestamp (DOSBOX Windows XP+)

Well, it seems at least one of the recent commits (post r4006,) has broken the timestamp fix. Any chance someone is in a position to fix it again? There are several games that require it to install properly. Any game that uses a compression system that uses a files timestamp as part of the …

Re: Dos 6 conventional memory tricks

There is only 1 way, with a standard PC, that I know of to get conventional memory over 640k (usually maxes at 620k-630k even with 3rd party memory managers.) That is to reclaim the hi-res color graphics RAM from A000-AFFF. Can't run anything with advanced graphics, but provides a large amount of …

Re: SDL_Sound nightmare.

Did you build mpg123 into SDL sound? In my build, MP3 isn't built in because I only built wav, ogg and flac, on account of not being able to get mpg123 to build . I didn't use the built in mpg123 code, I had to build libmpg123 separately, then include like any other library (libFLAC, libVorbis, etc …

Re: SDL_Sound nightmare.

Sorry about the delay, got my system back up and set up a backup image this time. Hopefully, next time I need to do a re-install, I won't face so many problems. As for SDL_Sound, it looks like I've actually finished with the actual SDL_Sound library now. It works like its supposed to work. The …

Re: SDL_Sound nightmare.

Um, everything on my system has been replace. When I got my settlement in I did a complete system upgrade. The only thing I didn't buy (then,) was a floppy drive or any new software. I really can't afford to replace my OS at full price, and I'm finally getting used to Windows 7, though I'd still …
