28c64 can only hold 8kbytes of data so you can't use the 12kb XTIDE bios...

Sadly it's not suitable for pc-gaming and you cannot make it into a mt-32 device because it's completely different hardware, it was made to accompany CM-32L and provide sampled sounds to use at channels 11~16 AFAIK. CM32-L + CM-32P = CM-64 , I think some X68000 (or PC-98?) games can use the CM-64 …

^ yep I figured it was PCMIDI :) acpi is weird in it's irq9 hogging - I was using my 233mmx setup for years but I did not realize I had an issue - Phil found it sooner since it was affecting his HDD I hope there is an option for ACPI in your system, at some point they removed the ability to disable …

Is there an option to disable ACPI in BIOS and revert to APM? I don't know if this will help with the ISA issues but ACPI is hard-wired to IRQ9 so maybe there is some resource conflict going on there. On my 233mmx system I had to revert to APM several years back when Phil discovered that ACPI IRQ9 …

I also have bought winrar been registered for a very long time :p About a decade ago I asked them if it was possible to register the DOS version as well but they replied they can't make codes for it anymore... 🤣

I think that MOTU was a serious card to really do serious work but it has so much going on it will conflict with games that expect "simpler" things... I am interested to hear how it behaves though!!!

Just an update, I received jheronimus's card this morning and I confirmed the issue was a semi-dead Z8. For simple stuff (like Hocus Pocus music for example) it worked fine, when you went to "heavy" mt-32 usage then it started lagging or something. I replaced it and all was good again. Will keep …

yes it is true - once you go quality midi you can't go back! It was the same for me as well, games just become way more enjoyable!
