Re: Roland SC-55mkII works with wrong AC polarity??

Maybe he reversed the polarity on his psu and forgot about it - or he got it already modded. I don't remember if the sc-55 has a rectifier in it's power input , if it does have one then polarity is not an issue. Better not test , you did the right thing. Maybe verify his pay polarity with a …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

^ wait, MPU64 is a usb device? I am sorry I thought it was an ISA one I was thinking the super-mpu-at2 or something like that it was called... for USB no dos support as yawetaG says. Like I mentioned before, anything after mpu401at/scc-1 is not suitable for dos be it ISA or USB or whatever :) it's …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

instead of connecting all midi modules to the mixer connect the midi modules to a source selector like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOT-Input-1-Output-4-Port-Audio-Video-AV-RCA-Switch-Switcher-Selector-Box/321659514372?hash=item4ae466ae04:g:4QMAAOSw0e9U0ZJx:rk:6:pf:0 and use the mixer to fine …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

It is recommended to use each device in a separate channel, meaning: - connect SB audio-out to CH.1 - connect SC-55 audio-out to CH.2 this way you will have total control - you'll soon find out that music/sfx volumes vary from game to game and having a mixer really comes handy. My mixer has 3 stereo …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

yes that is the best way: use each device for it's games. Windows-based games don't care about roland mpus or intelligent modes, a simple uart mpu is all they care... you can even use a usb midi interface if the system is modern enough. So using the MPU64 with windows is good. I use KENTON splitters …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

there are differences on the engine between mt-32 (old) and CM-32L which uses the "new" sound engine. Phil has a video , check the section "Games that require the MT-32 (old)" -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLvsaJ4h-VY&t=7576s Basically some sounds are not rendered the same, if a game is made …

Re: UFO: Enemy unknown and MT-32

jheronimus wrote: Hey, that’s probably an issue with 1.4 version. Either use an older version or try the patch from here. this one worked perfectly! the new roland.cat goes in the \SOUND\ subdirectory replacing the old one! ripsaw8080 did his magic again 😊

Re: UFO: Enemy unknown and MT-32

I just checked on my system - I have the game original installed from floppies and patched to 1.4 - using a SBPRO2 and a PCMIDI interface. - I get the option for MT-32/LAPC-I music on setup and use it for music - start the game , the MT-32 is only producing some sfx (like the intro alarm) and …

Re: PC for MT-32

yeah I'd also leave that mt-32 connected to the 486/33 (maybe go as far as 486/66?) since you plan to have another build for the SC-55 - use that with the ss7 system
