ME combined with wdm drivers is really nice. System restore on the other hand is a drag on cpu and performance, I also killed it back then.

That battery is a rechargeable one, not what came originally with the mobo but it is a direct replacement for the classic barrel shaped ones.

that is normal for this version of the card, it is a fix like the resistor at the back in relation to the wavetable header stability, it does nothing for the classic mpu part... does this happen only on Wing Commander? did you by any chance try another game on the same system? btw, I will gladly …

that's normal for AT systems to have a 2nd 8259A there... jheronimus can you try with port 300 and IRQ5 for example? just to rule out resources maybe also have bios back at stock settings? some isa timings wrong? have you tried another game? maybe game files are corrupted? some driver affecting the …

IRQ or address conflict? a bad cable? It seems to me that half the notes are missing or something I assume the exact same card+mt32+cable work OK in another system? did you try another game? can you try in another isa slot (corrosion reasons perhaps?)

at this point unless shock___ has an extra beta pcb for sale available you can't do anything (these were/are only for supporters) when he makes the final pcbs then he will post and we will all get what we want , for now we wait 😀

It could be the board sends too much voltage to the simms and slowly kills them. It would be very unlikely that cap is to blame, it seems to me it's just a filtering one.

sadly it can't be done and having a combo ega/vga card (with dedicated 9pin and 15pin connectors) does not work well for ega games (compatibility issues with games that support both ega and vga mainly) so it's not a good solution... the way to go is dedicated setups.

Just dumped the rom of a Hyundai "MONO GRAPHICS BOARD E40080004" hercules compatible card, it has the Greek charset according to the label.
