I am tempted to invest on that mister board, recently so many great cores got released... even mega-cd now works btw GODS needs a LAPC-I/CM-32L to sound correct

@ j^aws there IS a wavetable header on the card, it's just all black and hard to spot... it's in the usual place at the top there are also pics with an X2 and TB60-XG wavetable cards connected 😀

LOL @Dionb I cannot comment on the price yet - we are still looking to bring cost down - but still buy from reliable sources - I don't want to say something and then take it back. like marmes said a jumper to do that is not possible - this can be done with configuring the card's eeprom. I wrote in some previous post that we can supply a batch file that will do just that so choosing an OPL3 device is a reboot away 😀

I tested the soundman with Tiido a while back and the DAC only produced sound on ports 220 and 300 if that helps

Yes the YM289 is the newer version of the older OPL3 chip... not only in power but in output too , they dropped the oddball frequency and made that 44.1khz The only other card for DOS that is kinda similar is the Turtle Beach Malibu but you are limited to internal FM on this one With this card …

No salvaged chips, we secured a stock of genuine chips so there won't be any issues. Internal FM is indeed disabled on CS4237 under DOS (win9x on the other hand insist of enabling it because it ignores the setup in the card's eeprom , still working on it but it's hard since we don't have any SDK/ …

Does the SPDIF come out of the Crystal chip, or is mixer first? Something must sample the waveblaster and mix it digitally with everything else? No you can't hardcode it like you do with other setup options , S/PDIF setup and enabling is like the SRS 3D audio function that needs an extra program to enable/disable. It's just a 0.5sec function, you run it - it access some registers and it S/PDIF works. So basically you run 2 programs on boot …

thanks gerwin! and yep, the 9236 digital audio interface is used for the OPL3 chip and this is also why YMF289 is used : 44,1khz output

I will check the rest but I can tell from now that at least Bio Menace is OK with SB sounds , love that game and played it too much in testing 😁 I really think it's DN2 that is the "weird" one mixing at least 2 adpcm formats in it's playback routines.
