Just my 2 cents for the next batch: 1. Maybe an MPC header for the Stereo Out is worth installing - this way we could feed the stereo out into the mixing soundcard internally. I can see this being useful , ever since I moved to an external mixer I don't really think about soundcard connections …

No offense, that's what my original cd is - can't do anything more tbh. Maybe the disc is failing, maybe the weird mastering they did is to blame I have no idea. Even the volume label is weird so anything goes....

from what I see on the datasheets it's the "6168 SA20P" sram , the VCC and GND pins are in the opposite position compared to the 44256-type sram... so they are dead, if you find some 44256 sram then chances are the board will work if there aren't any other issues... http://i66.tinypic.com/ngo6xw.jpg …

Do a MD5 comparison of the "affected" files against a pressed CD and you'll see they are the same. Anyways, anyone willing to upload another image go ahead, I can't really be bothered any more with this.

^ there is an AUDIO track on that cd, see the mixed-mode icon on the windows explorer on my shot (or the contents of the CCD/CUE files). That's where the extra megabytes are.

Anyone know anything about the CD issue I mentioned earlier with Disk 3? Extracted disc image is 768MB and cannot be opened with 7zip or mounted virtually, CD gives a verification error about 75% of the way through after burning, disk works but contains only 560MB of data. What is the part number of the DIP ram chips you used MMaximus? It is possible the pinout is different and they are fried , you have to get "41256" and "44256" chips to try now OR find the proper settings so you can use the simm sockets

The mouse you use MUST support both PS/2 and SERIAL modes for the adapter to work. If your mouse supports only serial mode then the adapter does nothing.

crappy image quality, processing lag, etc It's just a GBS 8820 just look it on the net. I have tested with a cga-style input once and it works for the simple text modes it was meant to be used with.

Well for the CRT way you will need an EGA monitor - just get what you can find working since nowdays EGA monitors are not that common. There is also the "MDA/CGA/EGA to VGA Converter" project that will allow you to use a modern VGA monitor: MDA/CGA/EGA to VGA Converter Released!

I've run XT-IDE in a range of machines from XT to pentium1 ones... it will work just fine. Sure you need to invest some money/time but in the long run it's a far superior solution than any software overlay and that's why I recommend it. Anyone is free to use whatever they want though, I can't argue …
