OnTrack does that , it's just the way it works. What I recommend is to ditch the software overlay solutions all together and use the XT-IDE bios instead.

TL866 is very good and it will also program the GALs for the CMS upgrade. That's what I use as well, just keep in mind that it has issues with 22v10 GALs if that is relevant to you. Really? I have never used these good to know. GALs (and PALs) are a strange beast, for some reason not many …

There are 386sx systems with an extra cache controller , rare but they exist. The Kingston SX Now! 386sx upgrades have 16kb of cache for example, it really makes a huge difference.

^ I will check CA1 , maybe a bit too much solder on it I did not use the drag technique on the soic chips - nothing special really. The Interwave IC was soldered by shock___ , this is beyond my skill atm 😁

^ have you programmed the 29f800 eeprom with the GUS PnP romdata? This eeprom holds the default sample set, if it is not programmed then this would explain why you get no music

1. use it to transfer files , mTCP is your friend 2. if the card has a boot rom socket you can install there the XTIDE BIOS so you can use large HDDs without overlays/extra software
