I have a vga that can be jumpered to greyscale , I don't think that putting resistors on the RGB line will remove color alltogether... maybe your card has a utility to force MONO mode?

Haven't started building yet - I have the components except the 20K/2.2K/2.2uf ones - I ordered them today. I believe I'll start soldering one board tomorrow but programming the ROM will take some time as I have no SOP44 adapter.

Here are some quick answers :) - open up the floppy and clean the heads gently with IPA , 95% it will be fine after that - replace all smd electrolytic caps on the mobo - 95% chance they already leak on the bottom (sadly you can't see it unless u remove the caps) - WB3x needs 3x kickstart so it …

Weird stuff.. maybe you need the DOS programs to initialize the card first on boot and then windows will pick up the devices? Worth a shot IMHO

well I tested with another EGA card and with another monitor - sadly I get the same results as the pics I posted above... Plasma, what firmware are you using on your board?

Plasma your lcd shots look fine... I am using an ATI EGA Wonder 800, I'll try with another card and report back I also just noticed the lost detail on the spaceship's window on my lcd shot...

You should already have the SB-16 MPU401 driver installed - it comes with the SB16 driver package , the windows "MPU 401" driver is meant for dedicated MPU cards like the Roland/Music Quest/HardMPU/etc ones.
