Interesting, maybe I need to make the default mode of my HT12/A 286 pc to use the Headland EMS memory driver rather than DOS6.22 himem.sys Also in this machine I have installed a Kingston 386sx33 upgrade, in that case what is better? emm386 , headland ems or himem.sys ? I never thought of that …

here are some goodies , manual + latest patched bios edit: heh, I had upload both 128GB BIOS and manual on vogonsdrivers, grab it here: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=645 ps. the 128GB BIOS was working fine for me but as always use it at your own risk...

That's the pain with SBCs ... even if you email the manufacturer you'll get a response in the line of "we have lost these documents" . This is why before I buy an SBC I search for a manual or jumper settings first. There are some nice ones on eBay but documentation cannot be found... Sorry my post …

your problem is that your TV sets are PAL and cannot decode the NTSC color information that the IBM CGA outputs. You need to find a TV that accepts NTSC over composite, then you'll see colors. I hunted down a NTSC 1084 monitor just for use with my XT that has an IBM CGA , I am also in PAL-land...

I have looked briefly on the TL866-II model and it seems to be the same , it just supports more newer ICs and has a lower maximum programming voltage IIRC. It is just more suitable for newer stuff IMHO but unless you want to burn really ancient eproms it shouldn't be any difference.

Since my 286 build is nearing its completion, I have snatched up the next step: A 386 board with an Opti chipset. Probably not the fastest thing, but it came with beeper, battery and 8 MiB of RAM. I will hold off firing it up, until I get my smart ATX2AT converter. I do not want to risk frying …
