I actually found a "workaround" , get a NIC with NDIS/3 driver and there is no need to run "net start" before loading windows - TCP-IP/32bit with windows networking works fine.

I believe it will be slightly faster in 2D operations (and ofcourse adds the "3D" ability but that's not really an advantage in this case)

It seems too slow in my 286/16 , using a WDC90C30 or 5429 is noticeable faster. Maybe it needs more than 256kb or vram.

What you call "ISA slot" is a connector for that PCI busboard, nothing to do with ISA at all. PCI cards will behave as normal.

it also says "Rev 1.1" at the bottom left part... look at the ISA slots, maybe there is a sticker on the side. The battery is indeed a rechargeable 3.6v one , most likely in the range of 50~60mAh capacity.

@r00tb33r your best bet is to get UniVBE6.7 and use it's UniRefresh program, it will detect your card's capabilities and will allow you to set refresh rates in DOS for VBE modes (Duke3D, Blood, Quake use them for example).
