I wanna start building a CVX-3 but I am confused atm 😵 , what value resistors did we settle as being the "best" so I can build the first one with that choice ? I have a selection of : - 10K 1% - 22K 1% - 33K 1% - 47K 1% - 68K 1% - 82K 1% - 100K 1% I want to say it's 100K 🤣

This is what I do as well: install the CF to my ss7 pc, write down the geometry that BIOS reports and use these values on the older pc.

I am pretty sure I have the same utility (called VGAMODE.EXE this time) for my WC90C33 cards, it even allows you to set a mode and reboot to that mode overriding the default vga one

I was gonna write to check the pinout of the breakout cable but you did that already.... Run GateWay and see what it reports, if it cannot detect an intelligent mode mpu it will complain on start

Post a pic of what you see on the monitor, my guess is that it is a cga clone on a multi-function card.

I am pretty sure that the instructions that come with the encoder will tell you what these extra buttons do and you'll decide which are useful to you. I haven't used that board so I can't say for sure what the exact details are, sorry 😐

ET4000 is fast but has issues in some games - who doesn't want to play Commander Keen on a 386DX anyways? 🤣 Equally fast and trouble-free are the WDC90C31 based cards - you can't go wrong with one.
