I'm actually surprised that this hasn't come up before... With my own "games-use" Sound Canvas units, I set the battery "Backup" option to "Off," which provides the same effect as a GS Reset when the unit is power-cycled. Didn't knew there was an option for this... I just remove the battery …

the PS1/pro at the top is the same as the one I still have from back when it was new, it should be a 386sx/20 machine with onboard vga and 2mb ram, needs special 72pin ram to upgrade to max 16MB ... what's your plans for it?

I've been using PLOP for years with dual-os setups on my retro builds (98SE/ME and DOS) and never faced an issue with crashes etc, like Jorpho wrote this behavior is caused by something else, not the bootmanager

^ there might be a way soon-ish to make a PAL 1084S-P1 ntsc compatible - changing the PAL decoder to the NTSC counterpart and adding/replacing some passive components. It's been under investigation from a more knowledgeable person, if it is a success I'll make a detailed post about the conversion. …

@keropi may i ask what you have tried? imho it should be as simple as inserting the add-on and running a supporting media player (xing i think) It's been some time now but I am pretty sure I did not try XING. I installed the vga's driver, the "S3 Video Live" thing and just tested with mpeg-1 files …
