I assume the machine has an onboard vga, maybe it's faster than the Isa one you will install, be sure to benchmark before and after. It's not uncommon for these machines to have onboard VLB vga/ide controllers ... Nice machine btw 😀

A great board, mine is the almost the same but it's been working in my office ever since the thing was sold and P45 was one of the latest s775 chipsets...

Ofcourse the MegaPC would be more expensive, it had a custom design with a megadrive in it and came ofcourse with a dual-sync VGA monitor that wasn't exactly cheap on it's own back then ;) At some time I was actively pursuing to get a complete setup, shipping was a killer but in retrospect I should …

There is only one ftp server you'll ever need for your retro-rigs and that's mTCP -> http://www.brutman.com/mTCP/ - this is what I run on my old systems and then use a modern client on the modern side to transfer my files (I use FlashFXP). I don't see the point to setup a server on the modern side …

Nope, Goldstar is just the manufacturer of these common logic ICs, there are also some National Semiconductors, Motorola, ST and Hyundai ICs as well... Looks like the expensive ICs are clones and the really common ones are whatever they could find cheaper, typical for a clone card

great story, needs more pics though 😁 I would't upgrade it to anything personally, it's quite awesome to have your first pc with all it's parts. Maybe change the failing HDD or add an adlib but the rest should remain the same 😀
