yep, you need a daughterboard or an external midi device in order to use the MPU401 interface , this is true for all soundcards out there that don't have an onboard wavetable synth.

2 points: a. VOGONS does not support abandonware downloads , noone will help you with that here b. the error you get is self-explanatory: the game needs windows so your error is not related to DOSBox in any way

^ no ansi driver loaded at all ... nothing is getting loaded on boot tbh in this setup, at least it works OK one time so it's something LOL At any rate, it's a little annoying for a XT setup to be forced to wait each time for the free space calculation , I'll probably won't care about this util …

interesting little util, not bad :D Tried it on my XT setup, it does take a while (as expected) to calculate the free space when you run it after a boot , same as the DIR command. Run N.COM once and you get this screen - nothing unusual (no battery atm so date/clock is not working properly) http:// …

^ yes , that's what happens when you remove the basic rom from the emulator bundled... it's not that bad it reports "no rom basic found" , I assume after this message I will get the XT-IDE bios one so it would be tolerable 🤣

Did some testing (again) with the emulator that is bundled with the XT BIOS - I remember now why I did not burn an eprom to test: I can't find a way to totally disable the ROM Basic message LOL The Hyundai clone doesn't have a slot for a basic rom, it's kinda annoying seeing the prompt that does …
